Quantity Surveyor – Site-Based Role (Laois, Ireland)

Company Overview:
Our client, a leading specialist contractor known for delivering high-quality timber frame builds, is currently seeking a talented and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a major housing development project. This site-based role will focus on a large-scale, 180-unit housing development, involving rapid-build processes that require precision and strong project management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the cost estimation and budgeting for the project, ensuring accurate forecasting and cost control.

• Monitor project progress, ensuring that costs are within budget, and work with the project team to identify and resolve any financial or contractual issues.

• Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing and maintain project profitability.

• Prepare and review tender documents, contract variations, and final accounts.

• Ensure compliance with all contract terms and conditions, while maintaining a high standard of quality and safety.

• Liaise with project managers, engineers, and other site staff to ensure effective communication and project success.

• Provide regular cost reports and updates to senior management.

Key Requirements:

• A relevant degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field.

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Quantity Surveyor role, preferably in residential or housing development projects.

• Strong knowledge of contract administration, cost control, and procurement processes.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure.

• A solid understanding of construction methods and rapid-build housing developments is a distinct advantage.

• Proficient in using industry-standard software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, CostX, etc.).
